In this tutorial, the Simulation Static tensile test of the concrete piece in the Abaqus has been studied. The concrete part is modeled as a three-dimensional solid part. You can see a figure of the assemble part below
Concrete is a strongly heterogeneous material, which exhibits a complex nonlinear mechanical behavior. Failure in tension and low confined compression is characterized by softening which is defined as decreasing stress with increasing deformations. The model is a continuum, plasticity-based, damage model for concrete. It assumes that the main two failure mechanisms are tensile cracking and compressive crushing of the concrete material. The concrete Damaged Plasticity model is appropriate for this analysis. The general static step with some changes in the convergence model is used. The fixed boundary condition is assigned to the end of the piece and displacement to the other end. The mesh should be fine at the middle zone to observe damage and failure
After the simulation, all results such as stress, damage, strain, force-displacement diagram, stress diagram, and… are available. You can see some figures for the results below
You can provide CAE ,INP,and English video files of this simulation here. The cost of these files is Twenty Euros. you can click on the bellow bottom to beginning process
