Simulation of Explosive Welding between Titanium and Steel Pipe in Abaqus

This video explains Explosive(impact)welding between two pipe in Abaqus step by step. The internal pipe or flyer pipe made of Titanium and the external pipe or base pipe made of steel.Two pipe has modeled as axisymmetric part and TNT like them. For modeling TNT behavior JWL equation of state has been used .During the process Ti pipe move like flyer pipe toward the Steel pipe. TNT crated a huge pressure on the flyer pipe and causes a joint as weld between the interference surfaces of two pipes. The quality of mesh has a massive effect on the result so the analysis needs to increase the number of element for better result. In the bellow pictures you can see the result of this simulation
