Simulation geosynthetic-reinforced soil retaining wall in Abaqus

In this tutorial Simulation geosynthetic-reinforced soil retaining wall in Abaqus has been investigated. The soil is modeled as two dimensional part with elastic ,cap plasticity material with hardening. The geosynthetic is modeled as 2 dimensional wire model with elastic material with beam element.You can see figures about the assembled parts at below

Sequential Construction of a Geotextile-Reinforced Soil Retaining Wall using FEM Using the sequential construction procedure (layer by layer), analyze the 3-m-high geotextile-reinforced soil retaining wall.For this simulation ten general static step for sequential construction has been used. In the each step on layer of soil and geosynthetic added to the model and gravity load is applied to that layer. The geosynthetic is used as embedded region in soil. The appropriate boundary is assigned to all parts. The mesh should be fine to get a proper result. The pressure diagram from Sam Helvany book and the result from Abaqus has shown at below

Two diagrams have a good appropriate with each other. After the simulation the other result such as stress,displacement and plastic strain can be obtainable. You can see some figures of this simulation at below
