In this tutorial Simulation damage mechanism of beam-column connection under cyclic loading in Abaqus  has been investigated. The beam and column are modeled as three dimensional shell part.You can see a figure of assembled part at below

Steel material is used for beam and column as elastic plastic material combine with ductile damage criterion with evolution to predict damage zone during cyclic loading.General static step is appropriate for this type of analysis . To avoid unconvergence during the simulation increment time has changed. To apply cyclic loading tabular amplitude with below protocol has been implanted

The bottom of column is fixed and for the end of beam displacement along Y direction is assigned with amplitude. The mesh quality has a good effect over the result. After the simulation the damage and maximum stress happened at the connection zone which you can see some figures of the result at below
