In this tutorial, the Simulation air blast explosion over reinforced concrete column(ash and eggshell instead of cement partially) in Abaqus has been investigated. The concrete column is modeled as a three-dimensional solid part. The bar and strip are modeled as three-dimensional wire part. You can see a figure of the assembled parts below
Advancements in finite element combined with high-end computers have enabled the study of the performance of concrete. ABAQUS is one of the computer software in infinite element analysis (FEA) used to solve complex engineering problems and applicable across industrial disciplines such as mechanical engineering and civil engineering. The geometry model can be constructed before processed according to failure behavior criteria based on respective types of ABAQUS products. The concrete damaged plasticity model is used to define material behavior. The palm oil fuel ash and eggshell partially is used instead of cement. The material data is extracted from the reference paper. The dynamic explicit step is appropriate for this type of analysis. The CONWEP air blast procedure is used to define the detonation phenomena in Abaqus. The bars and strips are embedded inside the concrete column. The fixed boundary condition is used for the two ends of the column. The mesh should be fine to obtain good results
After the simulation, all results such as tensile and compression damage, stress, strain, … are achievable. You can see some figures for the results below
You can provide CAE ,INP,and English video files of this simulation here. The cost of these files is Twenty-Six Euros. you can click on the bellow bottom to beginning process
