Sandwich panel is modeled as three dimensional shell part with AL2024 as material. Dynamic explicit is appropriate for this analysis. During the analysis the upper rigid plate by moving causes a huge plastic deformation inside the sandwich plate specifically on the core section. You can see some figures of this simulation at below.
