In this tutorial, the Simulation dynamic bending test of a rubberized concrete beam reinforced with green composite in abaqus has been investigated. The rubberized concrete beam is modeled as a three-diensional solid part. The green composite is modeled as a three-dimensional shell part with four layups. The steel bas and strips are modeled as three-dimensional wire part. Two shell rigid body are used as hydrualic jack also. You can see a figure of the assemebled parts below
This simulation presents rubberized concrete composite as a new structural material. The Concrete Damaged plasticity model is selected to demonstrate the behavior of the rubberized concrete beam under the dynamic bending test. To model green composite material, the lamina elastic and Hashin damage criterion for composite matreials are selected. For the steel members, the elstic-plastic behavior is used
The dynamic explicit step with a mass scale to accelerate the simulation and minimize the inerial effect are selected. The tie constraint is used to consider the contact between the concrete beam and green composite pipe. The steel parts are embedded inside the the rubberized concrete beam. The surface to surface contact algorithm with frictional behavior is selected to define the contact between rigid body and the beam. The load is applied to the two jack and fixed boundary condition to the two ends of the beam. The mesh should be fine to get the proper resutls
After the simulation, all resutls such as stress, strain, damage for concrete, damage for the composite, force diagram, .. are available, you can see some figures for the resluts below
