In this tutorial, the Simulation dynamic pullout of a steel plate from the RC beam in Abaqus has been investigated. The steel plate is modeled as a three-dimensional solid part. The concrete beam is modeled as a three-dimensional solid part. The bars and strips are modeled as three-dimensional wire parts. You can see a figure of the assembled parts below
The steel material is used as an elastic-plastic model with ductile damage behavior for the plate, bars, and strips. To model concrete behavior under dynamic load, Abaqus provides some material models which they are appropriate for this simulation. Some of those material models need to be used as an input file or subroutine code. The concrete failure in this simulation is a brittle failure and fracture. The dynamic explicit step with a mass-scale technique to make stability in the model during the simulation has been used. There are two methods to define contact between the steel plates and concrete beam at the interface zone. The first is ideal contact or perfect contact and the second one is surface to surface to contact with contact property. The bars and strips are embedded inside the concrete. The fixed boundary condition is used for the sides of the beam and displacement with amplitude for the steel plate. The mesh should be fine especially at the contact zone.
After the simulation, all results such as failure and damage, stress, strain, force diagram, and … are available. You can see some figures for the results below
You can provide CAE ,INP,and English video files of this simulation here. The cost of these files is Twenty-Six Euros. you can click on the bellow bottom to beginning process
