In this tutorial, Simulation five points bending of the concrete beam in Abaqus has been investigated. The concrete beam is modeled as a three-dimensional solid part. The rebar inside the concrete beam is modeled as a three-dimensional wire part. The rigid shell body is used to model the boundary zone and hydraulic jack. You can see a figure of the assembled parts at below
The CDP material model or Concrete Damaged Plasticity for concrete is used to model concrete behavior under bending load. The steel material is used as elastic-plastic material for rebar. The general static step with some changes in the convergence model is used to obtain the Force-Displacement diagram. The surface to surface contact with friction property is implied to consider the interaction among rigid bodies and concrete beam. The rebar or beam parts inside the concrete beam are assumed as an embedded region. The fixed boundary is assumed for all rigid bottom parts and displacement with amplitude for two top rigid bodies. The fine mesh is used to achieve a good result
After the simulation, all results such as stress, strain, displacement, and Force-Displacement are obtainable. The Force-Displacement diagram shows the maximum force capacity for this simulation. You can see some figures for the results below
You can provide CAE ,INP,and English video files of this simulation here. The cost of these files is Twenty-Six Euros. you can click on the bellow bottom to beginning process
